Conference was held in the city of Alma-Ata for orphans and widows

Nov. 28, 2018

“Remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

– Acts 20:35

Dear Brothers and Sisters! Dear Friends!

In October of this year by the grace of God a conference was held in the city of Alma-Ata for orphans and widows. 89 widows participated in it. Some of them came from remote parts of Kazakhstan – 400 and more miles away.

Our joined efforts brought joy and spiritual encouragement to the hearts of widows at the seminars that were presented to them: “God’s Promises to Widows and Orphans” and “Great Hope for the Lord.”

The widows expressed their joy from attending this conference and shared this joy with each other. For many of them this was the first and very unusual such conference that was devoted to their difficult plot and many cares. They were very touched by the attention that was given to them. They were especially surprised by learning how much is, in fact, said about them in the Scripture and how special care and comforting the Lord gives to them in the Bible.

Sister Daria shared in the church how she became a widow after her husband’s long illness six years ago leaving her with a little daughter. She was very grateful for the material aid what was given to her at the conference – her daughter urgently needed some clothes and shoes.

Sister Svetlana arrived to the conference for the city of Isyk. She became a widow 11 years ago when her husband passed away after a stroke. Her son Bogdan (“God-given”) is 12 now. The sister received much spiritual joy and material support at the conference.

Sister Lena from the town of Obukhovka arrived to the conference from 400 miles by bus. Her husband died in a car crash five years ago. Her daughters are 12 and 13 years old now. She was especially touched by learning that there are people in the world who care about orphans and widows and who brought her so much joy from the Scripture. Sister Lena asked to pass her gratitude for prayers and for material support to all American brothers and sisters.

You can now see these testimonies on YouTube: "Widows Kazakhstan 2018". I am asking for your prayer to the Lord for opening the doors for our ministry of assisting and inspiring widows in other parts of the world, especially, to those with little children. May the Lord grant His mercy and His comfort to you just as you showed your mercy and provide comfort to these widows and orphans. Thanks to you, this year the conferences were held in Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia and Kazakhstan that allowed us to serve 266 widows (plus their children). We are very grateful to all of you who are demonstrating “true religions” and ask for your prayers for the next opportunity to minister to widows and orphans.
