Trip Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan
April 2, 2023Greetings to you, dear Brothers and Sisters,
By God’s grace I was able to travel to and to conduct conferences for widows and orphans in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in March of this year.
Thirty widows from different regions of the Uzbekistan arrived to the conference in Tashkent where it was held in partnership with the Senor Pastor of Uzbekistan Baptist Union brother Arkadiy Romanovich Belik. The widows attended seminars on the following topics: “God’s Promises to Widows”, “God’s Promises to Orphans” and “God-Loving Widow”. This was the first conference of this kind in the country and the widows were pleasantly surprised to be gathered together. Their testimonies at the conferences about the hardships of life and their faith in God’s provision and comfort served as spiritual support and blessing to everybody. They were pleased to see how their prayer needs were met through the material support they were receiving at the conference. For all the participants, widows and orphans, dinner was served and their travel expenses paid for and the widows with many children received additional assistance. Some of them had to refuse video recording of their testimonies due to the situation in their country but asked to pass their words of gratitude to everyone who participated in their life, in prayer and giving.
Together with the local Pastor Pavel in the city of Yangiyul, fourteen orphans, age 5 to 16, were ministered to. All of them live with their aunts and grandmothers and regularly attend the children’s services at the church. Two classes were offered to them: “Your Heavenly Father” and “God Is the Father of Orphans” in addition to the financial support for their families.
After crossing the border to Kazakhstan with brother Arkadiy Romanovich, we drove to the city of Shykment where the conference was held for 11 widows and orphans from the area. We also visited a Kazakh widow from the Baptist Church by the name of Nargiza, prayed for her needs and provided financial assistance for her herself and her four children.
Dasha, a thirteen-year-old orphan, came to the conference and was blessed to hear the Biblical teaching about her Heavenly Father. Upon receiving material support for herself, Dasha turned it all to her grandmother to feed the whole family. Additional finances were left to the pastor of the church to provide for her own needs – shoes and clothes.
Kamila has been an orphan since the age of nine and lives with her aunt. She has been attending church regularly for a number of years and is now preparing for receiving water baptism. Kamila was very grateful for the financial support which she needed desperately.
Sister Nadezhda was able to come to the Tashkent Conference from the city of Yangibazar. Her husband passed away leaving her with three children. She was very thankful for being invited to the conference and for the material support she received there. Nadezhda will now be able to purchase children’s clothes and shoes for the spring.
All these meetings, visits and conference for widows and orphans were conducted in Uzbekistan and that region of Kazakhstan for the first time and were a true blessing for both the local churches and the families. They praised the Lord for the comfort and the encouragement they received in their difficult lives. This ministry became possible thanks to your generous participation, dear brothers and sisters!
